Character Home Kitchen Expansion

This family of four was feeling cramped in their current kitchen. With two growing children and daily visits from extended family, their kitchen needed to serve as more than a place to prepare and eat meals. It also needed to serve as the hub of the home, with a command center, a gathering space, an office, a homework station and a dedicated dining area with wet bar and china storage. A mud room and lots of storage would be great too... And can we update the entire staircase while we're at it? Anything else? Yes please, it needs to match the existing style of the period home and blend seamlessly as though it had always been there.
