Professional Profile

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Christine has been motivated by creativity in all areas of her life.  As the daughter of an immigrant, her hands were never idle growing up.  She grew up helping her mother with custom window treatments and upholstery projects, while also dabbling in woodworking and home improvement projects with her dad and brothers.

 

She started her journey as a musician, with a Bachelors Degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from Alverno College in 1997.  In her career as an Independent Music Teacher, she served on the board of several local, state, and national organizations - always staying at the cutting edge of teaching techniques and providing a professional and elevated studio experience for her students.

While taking time off from her musical career to raise a family of her own, she fell back to her roots and started helping her friends and family with updates to their homes.  One thing led to another, and soon she was designing floor plans for renovations, staging homes for sale, and purchasing properties of her own to flip.  She has a particular affinity for the restoration of character homes.  She loves the challenge of updating the mechanicals and function of the home, while accentuating all of the design elements that give it character and charm.

The Covid lock-down gave her an opportunity to reflect and refocus.  Her "side gig" in the world of design and construction had opened new doors that she never wanted closed again.  She chose to take the hands-on experience in construction and project management and further hone her design skills.  She jumped into the Associate Interior Design program at Fox Valley Technical College and never looked back.  Since starting the program in January of 2021, she added on a Certificate of Entrepreneurship (which she completed in May of 2022) and also another Associate Degree program in Kitchen and Bath Design. 

 

While juggling parenting teenagers, caregiving grandmas, and working part-time, she still was able to keep a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into the Dean's List, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and served as Secretary on the board of the Student Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).  Her kitchen design won the 2021 Residential Design Competition at FVTC and was recently built by the Residential Construction Program.  She is thrilled to have graduated with Honors in December of 2022, the proud recipient of two Associate Degrees, and to be back out in the field- putting her new skills into practice.
